Rebecca de Almeida, the founder and creator of Music with Becca (USA) and Música com a Becca (BRA), is a music educator, opera singer, pianist, and mother. It is her mission to help parents and children gain access to a first-rate music education through online courses. Every child deserves the health and developmental benefits of a good music education, and every parent deserves to see their child grow and develop with joy!

As an opera singer, mezzo-soprano Rebecca de Almeida brings an exhilarating presence and transparent energy to the stage. She has been praised by Tribuna CT for her "luscious voice and warm timbre with a soothing, yet penetrating quality.”

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Rebecca has performed a variety of opera roles throughout the US and Europe. Some of her favorites include Carmen (Carmen - Bizet) with Grande Prairie Opera in Canada, Dorabella (Così fan tutte - Mozart) with Greve Opera Academy in Italy, Bradamante (Alcina - Handel) with East Coast Chamber Orchestra in the USA, Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice - Glück) with CT Lyric Opera, and Giulio Cesare (Giulio Cesare - Handel) with CT Virtuosi Summer Institute.

An accomplished pianist as well as opera singer, Rebecca graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro from the class of the renowned pianist Luiz Senise, and she earned a Master of Music in Piano Performance with an emphasis in Pedagogy from the University of Hartford under the guidance of Luiz de Moura Castro. Rebecca has since then pursued her interest in Taubman Technique and injury prevention, taking lessons with Edna Golandsky, founder of the Golandsky Institute in NYC. She is certified in the Kòdaly method and in First Steps in Music.

Rebecca de Almeida’s achievements and awards include 1st prize at XXVI Concurso Latino Americano Rosa Mística, II Concurso Nacional Jovem Destaque, two-time winner of ‘Concurso Villa Lobos’ as well as 2nd prize at 20º Concurso de Piano ArtLivre - Prova Estímulo, and performances at renowned venues including Teatro Municipal de Niterói and CCBB in Brasil, and The Garde Arts Center in New London, CT.

Rebecca de Almeida is Music Director at the historic Church of the Good Shepherd in Hartford, CT. She actively performs as a soloist and with her husband Blake Hansen in New England and Europe.
